The legendary footballer will not be among those watching the game between Les Bles and Argentina from the stands.

The French Football Federation is willing to go all in to provide the necessary support to Les Bleus in their attempt to win their third World Cup title, but one of their legends has turned down the possibility to cheer for them at Lusail Stadium despite being invited by the Federation.

The man in question is none other than Zinedine Zidane, who according to RMC Sport, declined an invitation from the FFF to make it to the stadium to watch Les Bleus battle Argentina with the World Cup title at stake.

According to RMC Sport's article, the plane chartered by football's governing body in France will see Sidney Govou, former coach Roger Lemerre, Manuel Amoros, Didier Six, Thierry Tusseau, Albert Rust, and Jean-Marc Ferreri joining the expedition.

Other players such as Thierry Henry and notable footballers such as Fabien Barthez are already in Qatar as pundits or on other duties, which is why they were not invited by the FFF, but Zidane's decision to decline was the biggest news.

While Zizou's reasons to reject the invitation have not been revealed, the former Real Madrid legend may have decided to pass on this opportunity after being named as the next coach for Les Bleus, an appointment that may have been delayed due to the team's fine form in this competition.

While he is still the frontrunner for the job, the French Football Federation has stated they will give Didier Deschamps some time to decide if he wants to carry on as boss before Zidane is given the nod, which may be the cause for Zidane's decision to watch the game elsewhere.
