The Brazilian youngster has garnered the attention of both Barcelona and Real Madrid but appears set to join Los Blancos in 2024.

The Cristiano Ronaldo vs. Lionel Messi debate is something that has gone on for over a decade, and interestingly, some rabid fans are the ones even fueling it more than the players themselves. These fans are eager to still keep it going, even though neither superstar plays for Real Madrid or Barcelona these days.

Unfortunately, a young player has now quickly found out he needs to choose his words carefully. Brazilian starlet Endrick, who's just 16 years old, has garnered a great deal of attention for his showings in his native land, with Spanish powerhouse duo Barcelona and Real Madrid battling it out for his signature.

However, as reports indicate, Real Madrid have edged out their bitter rivals, and are set to formally sign him in just over two years time, in 2024, for an estimated $76 million (€72 million). The youngster, like many others all over the world, has been following the World Cup, and despite the historic rivalry that exists between Brazil and Argentina, had no issue in expressing his admiration for Messi's performances so far in Qatar.

Specifically he posted the comment that "Messi is [just] absurd" accompanied by an alien icon, showing his belief that the 35-year-old is simply out of this world when it comes to what he can do on the pitch:

Regrettably for him, it inspired the ire of some segments of Real Madrid (and very likely a few Cristiano Ronaldo fans), who hurled abuse at him on social media to the point that the teenager was quickly forced to delete the tweet.

Hopefully, by the time he does sign for Real Madrid as expected, those same sections of fans won't hold it too personally against him as he certainly will be looking forward to continuing his career growth at one of the biggest clubs in world football.
