The Portuguese ace spoke about one of his potential rivals ahead of A Selecao's debut in the FIFA World Cup.

It has been a busy week for Cristiano Ronaldo thanks to his fiery interview with Piers Morgan, which has caused Manchester United to allegedly ask him not to go back to the team's training complex. But as contradictory as this may seem, the footballer shared his good side by praising one of the rivals he could face en route to the World Cup final.

In the aforementioned interview with Piers Morgan, Cristiano Ronaldo referred to some of the players he might run into during the World Cup, but he was full of praise for one that will defend Argentina's pride...and it is not Lionel Messi.

The Portuguese ace referred to teammate Lisandro Martínez as a different kind of player, stating that the defender could enjoy a long career if he can keep up with his good work on and off the pitch.

"He has a different mentality. Lisandro Martínez is smart and young, I am sure he will enjoy a long career if he can keep up the good work," the Portuguese footballer stated.

Then, CR7 spoke of Diogo Dalot and Casemiro, two players that could enjoy similar success due to their commitment to their careers.

"Diogo Dalot is an example of a young and very professional kid, I don't doubt he will be one of those players with a lengthy career. The same goes for Casemiro, even if he is already 30," the striker added.

Cristiano Ronaldo revealed that he would retire from professional football if he can find a way to win the title this winter with Portugal. Only time will tell if that is possible, but meanwhile, you can keep track of his performances in the tournament by looking at our FIFA World Cup website here.
