The Sporting bandwagon rolls merrily onwards. Two second-half goals gave the Lisbon club a 2-0 victory away at Feirense to make it ten consecutive wins in all competitions.
After making a promising start to life in the top flight, newly promoted Feirense have struggled of late and were big underdogs going into the match.

But the team from the small northern town of Santa Maria da Feira matched their more powerful opponents for the best part of the first hour.

The turning point came ten minutes into the second half as Feirense centre-back Henrique was sent off after picking up two yellow cards for fouls on Spanish winger Diego Capel in quick succession.

Shortly afterwards Dutch striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel won a hotly contested penalty, and promptly smacked it high into the net to give Sporting the lead.

It was Wolfswinkel's 10th goal in his last ten games.

Compatriot Stijn Schaars made sure of the three points in the 77th minute when his well-struck volley from the edge of the box flew into the bottom corner of the net.

Sporting move up to third in the table, three points behind joint leaders FC Porto and Benfica.
