Inter Milan welcome Viktoria Plzen to San Siro on Wednesday for their penultimate Champions League group game of the season.

On Wednesday, Inter Milan will host Viktoria Plzen at the San Siro in game five of the UEFA Champions League group stage.  With a victory, the hosts will guarantee their spot in the knockout rounds with leaders Bayern Munich having already secured their spot in the Round of 16. On the contrary,  Plzen remains last in the group after losing all four of their games in the ongoing campaign.

Inter have found their stride in both domestic and international competitions after a lacklustre start to the season. Their last outing saw them face Barcelona at Camp Nou where they played off in an exciting 3-3 draw before going back to Serie A and defeating Salernitana 2-0.

In their most recent game, which was also a goal-fest, they defeated Fiorentina 4-3. A win over Plzen should be enough to take Inter over the finish line although a draw and defeat to Barcelona in their home clash with Bayern Munich should also suffice. Needless to say, the Nerazzurri will be poised to complete the mission on their own as they have picked up points in all but two of their last nine Champions League outing.

For Plzen, a slim chance exists for them to potentially secure qualification to the Europa League. However, they will have to make history in order to stay achieve this ahead of next week's final matchday. As things stand, no Czech side has won away to a Serie A club throughout 10 previous Champions League or European Cup games.

Michal Bilek's side will approach the game having lost all four of matches in their European campaign thus far. They have had a busy few weeks, as they have played four matches in ten days. They defeated Jablonec 3-0 in the league before losing 3-2 to Hlucin to be eliminated from the Cup. A few days later, they defeated Banik Ostrava 3-1 to avenge this loss.
