Chelsea midfield star Matteo Kovacic dominated trending list on social media for his bizarre action that followed Saturday night's draw with Manchester United. The 28-years-old stunned fans after he was seen running off the pitch at Stamford Bridge in just his pants.
Kovacic started on the bench in the evening's match-up but was introduced into the game after Chelsea boss Graham Porter decided to tweak his tactics in the early minutes of proceeedings. In retrospect, the Croatian did not disappoint, stabilising the midfield and giving the Blues more control than they had enjoyed prior to his introduction.
His performance was crucial to the Blues' showing and his side almost secured the maximum three points but for Casemiro's late equalizer. In the end, the former Real Madrid star surprised viewers as he ru across the pitch in just his underwear before heading down the tunnel. The player had seemingly thrown both his shirt and shorts fans in the crowd after joining his team-mates to applaud them after the game.
