The Portuguese superstar and his teammates are on the verge of missing out on Champions League qualification for next season following Sunday night's defeat.

Juventus have seen their odds of securing Champions League qualification for next season heightened following Sunday night's defeat to AC Milan. The Bianconeri fell short against their league rivals and ended up suffering a 3-0 humiliation inside the Allianz Stadium.

Ahead of the encounter, Andrea Pirlo's side who have managed 69 points from 35 appearances, needed a win to be par with second-placed Atalanta and a point above Napoli. However, a different script unraveled to their dismay with AC Milan showing more intent to run away as victors. It was Brahim Diaz who struck first right on the stroke of half time to put his side in front and subsequently change the team talks in the respective camps.

Following the restart, the visitors had an opportunity to double their advantage via a spot-kick after VAR had ruled Diaz's goal-bound effort had hit Giorgio Chiellini's arm. However, the opportunity was missed by Franck Kessie who's shot was parried away by Wojciech Szczesny. In the 78th minute, Ante Rebic put the game out of reach for the Old Ladies with a brilliant top-drawer finish before Fikayo Tomori headed home a corner to seal the Rossoneri's first away win over the former champions in 10 years.

With the result, AC Milan climbed into third position with their point tally now standing at 72 from 35 appearances. in contrast, Juventus now sit in fifth position and are a point behind fourth-placed Napoli. The Bianconeri will take on Sassuolo, Inter Milan and Bologna in their final three games of the season and will hope that their rivals slip at a point so as to aid their charge for a Champions League spot next season.
