The Blues came out on top 1-0 after 90 minutes, edging them closer to a UEFA Champions League spot finish. The game ended up being the most-watched game of the week in the USA, receiving a 0.48 viewership rating after 866,000 people watched tuned in.
The second most-watched game of the week was an MLS Western Conference clash between Los Angeles FC and the Seattle Sounders on ESPN. The match ended in a one-all draw with goals from LAFC's Eduard Atuesta and Sounders' Brad Smith. The broadcast attracted 498,000 viewers and received a 0.28 rating.
A Premier League game between Manchester United and Leeds United on NBC Sports Network landed a spot on the podium. The game took place at Elland Road on Sunday and it ended in a goalless draw. A total of 434,000 people watched the broadcast, which scored a 0.26 viewership rating.
NBCSN also screened three other Premier League games last week. In total, the viewership from all four games adds up to 974,000.
TUDN screened nine matches from Friday, April 23 through Monday, April 26. A Liga MX game between Club America and Cruz Azul made it to Showbuzzdaily's top 150 cable originals and network finals last week. Club America overtook Cruz Azul in the Liga MX Femenil table after a 2-1 win on Sunday. A total of 77,000 people watched the game.
The Spanish-language channel's most successful broadcast last week was a Liga MX game between Mazatlan and Leon. Around 391,000 people watched Mazlatan take down reigning champions Leon 4-3. The game received a 0.17 viewership rating. Four other games had more than 300,000 viewers, including Atlas 0-1 Chivas and Tigres UANL 2-1 Monterrey on Saturday, and Queretaro 1-0 Juarez and Toluca 3-1 Club America on Sunday. All in all, viewership totals for the nine broadcasts reached 2,547,000.
Liga de Honduras made a guest appearance on FOX Deportes on Wednesday. FOX Deportes screened Marathon 3-2 Real de Minas and Vida 1-1 Motagua, bringing in a combined 191,000 viewers. Also, the Spanish-language channel broadcasted two Liga MX games – Monterrey 1-2 Chivas and Club Tijuana 1-0 Necaxa.
Two other MLS matches made it to Showbuzzdaily's top 150 cable originals and network finals last week. FOX Sports screened a one-all draw between Sporting KC and Orlando City SC and Chicharito's hattrick that helped LA Galaxy defeat NY Red Bulls 3-2. Both games added up to 309,000 viewers.
