Alvaro Arbeloa may have the opportunity to feature for Los Blancos tonight as Real Madrid will take on Ajax in the UEFA Champions League.
Real Madrid haven’t conquered Europe for quite a while now. Like millions of Madridistas around the world, club president Florentino Perez is dreaming about witnessing the club's 10th UEFA Champions League trophy this season.

However, defender Alvaro Arbeloa is asking for Los Blancos to avoid hastiness. Speaking at a press conference, the Spaniard stated the following:

“I'm sure both the media and the fans want a tenth European Cup title as much as we do, but we know we must go step by step and that it will be complicated to win the title.

“Obsession is never good. Our first step towards winning our tenth European Cup title must be taken tomorrow.”

Looking at the length of the 2011/12 campaign in comparison with Real Madrid’s aspirations, Arbeloa concluded on this matter, saying:

“We must be patient in order to win things in May. This is still September. We can't think eight months ahead.

“We must focus on one game at a time and win tomorrow in order to tally a total six points to be closer to our goal of qualifying as group leaders.”

Real Madrid are fresh from their 6-2 triumph over Rayo Vallecano in La Liga this weekend. On match-day 1 of the UEFA Champions League, the Spanish giants edged past Dinamo Zagreb to win their first 3 points of the 2011/12 European campaign. Ajax, meanwhile, drew 0-0 at home to Lyon.
