The biggest game of the season in the Mexican top-flight is here! Get hold of this clash between the top ranked teams in the tournament with our guide.

In a game where all bets should be off, América will host Cruz Azul with the top spot in the Guard1anes 2021 tournament to play for. Only two points separate these Mexican football powerhouses, and that is why no Mexican football  fan should miss this clash.

América get to this game with mixed feelings, since their unbeaten run in all comps came to an end this Wednesday, when Olimpia defeated them in the CONCACAF Champions League and nearly kicked them out of the tournament. Added to that, Solari's men saw quite a few members of the squad falling prey of Olimpia's dirty ways, which saw four players coming out of the game with knocks that could leave them out of the game. The worst of those came for Antonio de Jesús López, who left the game with a fracture to his right leg, which saw him saying goodbye to the rest of the season. But it is not all bad news for Solari, as he could have striker Henry Martín back after his recovery from a thigh problem.

As for Cruz Azul, La Máquina will make it to this clash on a high note, since their winning streak in the league has extended for 12 games, and their "B" unit earned an 8-0 win over Arcahaie in the second leg of their CONCACAF Champions League clash. That game, and their form throughout the season, has seen fans getting more thrilled than ever to see their team ending that 23-year streak without a title.

The recent history between these teams has seen Cruz Azul walking away with three wins in their last four games against los Azulcremas. That streak includes a 5-2 win for the team in blue in the Apertura 2019 title. The last game between these clubs ended in a goalless draw, and América will surely want to add their first win over La Máquina since the Clausura 2019 playoffs, when they defeated Cruz Azul with a 3-1 score.

Both coaches will be making their debut in a Clásico Joven. Santiago Solari will face Cruz Azul as a coach for the first time in his career, while Cruz Azul's boss Juan Reynoso will try to earn his first win against Las Águilas after losing three games with his former clubs.
