The Nerazzurri look to make it 11 wins in a row when they host their relegation-battling opponents. Here's a preview of Sunday game.

Preview – Inter Milan vs Cagliari

Serie A leaders Inter Milan return to action this midweek, going in search of a 11th straight victory when they host Cagliari. This Stadio Giuseppe Meazza showdown kicks off at 6:30 a.m. ET on Sunday as Antonio Conte's side look to strengthen their already-firm grip on the Scudetto.

Lukaku and Co. are in the driving seat to end their 11-year wait for a Serie A title. 2010 was the last time the Nerazzurri lifted the league crown, with Jose Mourinho's treble winning side being their last champions of Italy.

Inter entered the weekend with an 11-point lead; however, after AC Milan's 3-1 victory over Parma, that advantage has been temporarily sliced to eight points. Victory over the relegation battling side would reinstate that lead with only eight games left to play in the campaign.

The Milan giants head into this fixture on the back of their midweek triumph over Sassuolo. Romelu Lukaku inspired his side to the win, scoring the opening goal in a 2-1 triumph, with Argentine talent Lautaro Martinez netting the other strike. That was their 10th consecutive win, and given that Inter have won 12 of their last 14 home fixtures, the hosts appear all but destined to triumph on Sunday

Conte's men have scored 68 goals this season, the joint-best in the league, while suffering only two defeats throughout the Italian top-flight campaign. Cagliari, on the other hand, have lost their last three outings in a row, scoring twice while conceding seven.

As a result, the visitors occupy the 18th spot. Five points separate them from 17th-placed Torino, but despite their need for points, Leonardo Semplici's side are unlikely to achieve that at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza. Do not miss this fixture.

Team news

Inter Milan: Nicolo Barella is suspended but Marcelo Brozovic is back after serving a ban. Similarly, Alessandro Bastoni should return to the lineup, as is Danilo D'Ambrosio after overcoming COVID-19. Ivan Perisic and Aleksandar Kolarov, meanwhile, are doubts.

Cagliari: Alessio Cragno contracted the coronavirus and will thus sit this tie out. Nahitan Nandez is nursing a thigh issue but Alessandro Tripaldelli should return from injury in time for this fixture.
