The two-legged Spanish Super Cup tie between Real Madrid and Barcelona is pretty much around the corner but Gonzalo Higuain claims that Los Blancos aren’t thinking about this tie yet.
Real Madrid’s pre-season football is not over yet. The 2011 Copa del Rey champions and La Liga runners-up are currently in Tianjin, China for the next club friendly.

Earlier this week, Los Blancos played Guangzhou in a 7-1 victory that put Cristiano Ronaldo, Angel di Maria, Jose Maria Callejon and Karim Benzema on the scoring sheet. Real Madrid are expected to continue their adventure in Asia with another great result this weekend against Tianjin Teda.

In the meantime, 2011 Supercopa de España rivals Barcelona are racing against time to re-build their strength after a long year. The Catalans have not impressed the public so far with their 2-1 and 4-1 defeats to Manchester United and Chivas respectively.

Football pundits are eventually already assessing the chances of Barcelona against Real Madrid ahead of August 14 and August 17’s Spanish Super Cup fixtures. But whether Los Blancos might earn the tags of favorites or not prior to this two-legged contest, Gonzalo Higuain is in no way bothered.

The Argentine forward spoke on behalf of Real Madrid’s squad as the club’s official website reported, stating:

“We are not thinking about the Spanish Supercopa yet. We are only thinking about the game on Saturday [against Tianjin Teda]. We are not here to talk about Barcelona.”
