Paris Saint-Germain and Lille are set to lock-horns in what is a potential title decider in Ligue 1.

Ligue 1 title holders Paris Saint-Germain will come face to face with Lille in a battle for the top spot on Saturday afternoon. Ahead of the encounter, the two sides are level with 63 points after 30 games with PSG only edging their title rivals on goal difference. With the likes of Lyon and Monaco breathing down the necks of the two clubs, the pair will be eager to get favorable results with just eight matches left to play this season.

Paris Saint-Germain will approach the weekend's encounter in good form, having lost just one of their last seven outings in all competitions. Les Parisiens entered the international break with an emphatic 4-2 win over potential title contender Lyon, a clash with ended with Kylian Mbappe hitting his 100th Ligue 1 goal. The Frenchman has been unplayable this season and his goals would once again in handy as he further consolidates his status as the league's leading goalscorer.

With Mbappe's help, Mauricio Pochettino's side has managed the most goals in the 30 games played so far, scoring 67 and conceding just 21. Coming up against Lille, PSG will fancy their chances as they managed a win in the Coupe de France semifinal clash with Les Dogues after drawing 0-0 in the reverse league encounter. A 3-0 victory guided them to the final where they await either Lyon or Red Star.

Needless to say, Christophe Galtier will count on his charges to make a difference this time with the stakes even higher than before. At a point, Lille looked like breakaway winners of the 2020/2021 league campaign but were brought down to earth after picking up some bad results in recent weeks. So far, they are without a win in their last three outings across all competitions.

Across the last 10 outings in Ligue 1, they have registered six wins, three draws and three defeats. Coming into Saturday's clash on the backdrop of the disappointing 2-1 home defeat against Nimes, Lille should be motivated to get an appreciable response against PSG. Anything but a win could see them fall behind in the four-man race at the top.
