Third-placed Leicester City will host the league leaders at the King Power with Premier League action returning after the international break.

Preview

Leicester City will aim to upset the bookies' prediction when they welcome title-favorites Manchester City to the King Power Stadium on Saturday. Both sides had a number of their key players representing their respective countries during the international break but will look to hit the ground running as soon as possible with the business end of the season well in session.

For the Foxes, an outsider chance exists for them to potentially secure the title but it will require an extraordinary turn of events for that to happen. They will approach the weekend's encounter soaring in confidence after defeating Manchester United in the FA Cup's quarter-final in their previous appearance. A brace by Kelechi Iheanacho and Youri Tielemans' stunner proved to be enough for Brendan Rodgers' men who will face off with Southampton at Wembley in the coming weeks.

Leicester has proven to be a handful in the Premier League, losing just one of their last eight appearances. They have drawn three and won four matches within the period and currently boast the best away form in the competition. On the contrary, their home form needs a lot of work as they rank 7th in that category. With Manchester City only falling short to them on the best away form leaderboard, Brendan Rodgers and his men have a lot of work to do in taming Pep Guardiola's high-flying side.

The Citizens, with eight matches to play, have emerged as champions-elect. Currently, 14 points separate the former title-holders and their closest rivals Manchester United and will look to extend this further with the Red Devils set to play on Sunday. City entered the international break with a 2-0 win over Everton which secured them a place in the semi-final of the FA Cup. Prior to that, they defeated Southampton, Fulham and Borussia Monchengladbach after seeing their remarkable 28-game unbeaten run being ended by Manchester United.

The City players will go into the weekend's clash with Leicester with high hopes and the desire to secure vindication for the humiliation they suffered at the beginning of the season. In the reverse encounter, they were thrashed 5-2 by the Foxes at the Etihad, with Jamie Vardy.

Team news

Leicester City will go up against Manchester City without James Justin and Harvey Barnes, as the English pair are yet to recover from respective injuries. James Maddison, Wes Morgan, Ricardo Pereira and Cengiz Under are all fitness doubts. On the other hand, Pep Guardiola has a full squad to choose from as none of his players is currently on the treatment table.

Predicted starting XI

  • Leicester City: Schmeichel; Soyuncu, Evans, Fofana; Albrighton, Tielemans, Ndidi, Praet, Castagne; Vardy, Iheanacho

  • Manchester City: Ederson; Walker, Stones, Dias, Cancelo; De Bruyne, Rodrigo, Gundogan; Mahrez, Jesus, Sterling
