Zlatan Ibrahimovic and other Rossoneri stars will be getting some spiffy new wheels next season after Milan and the German luxury car manufacturer signed a multi-year deal today.

Next season will see Zlatan Ibrahimovic and his teammates driving some nice new wheels after AC Milan and BMW signed a contract earlier today, according to reports from Italy.

While the exact financial details of the deal haven't been revealed, what we do know is that the arrangement is expected to last several years. Audi used to be the car sponsor for the Rossoneri, but that deal ended in 2017. In 2019, there were reports that South Korean car manufacturer KIA were keen, but nothing came to fruition, and now, finally, Milan have a new sponsor in the form of BMW.

From Milan's perspective, this new sponsorship deal is a huge boost. BMW are among the most recognized brands in the world, and given that they've been producing luxury products for a very long time, the fact that they're willing to link up with the Rossoneri as a high-level sponsor shows that perhaps brands are starting to see that the Diavolo are slowly returning to the big table after years of languishing in the shadows. Milan haven't won the Champions League since 2007, and their last Scudetto win was in 2011. Their last trophy overall was the Supercoppa Italiana in 2016.

The club were certainly excited to reveal this new partnership on their social media feed, as evidenced with this announcement on their official twitter account:

As for BMW, perhaps they're looking at the fact that reportedly, Milan enjoy unprecedented brand awareness  in two huge markets for them: the USA and China. In fact, the Rossoneri are, according to some reports, the most popular Italian club in both America as well as in China, which thus would make a lot of sense to test out a multi-year partnership with a team who seem to be finally making a comeback after some difficult times.
