TUDN not only landed the most soccer game broadcasts on Showbuzzdaily's top 150 cable originals and network finals last week, but three of its broadcasts took up the three most-watched soccer games on U.S. TV. All in all, a total of 3.2 million viewers tuned in to TUDN's 14 broadcasts, including Concacaf Men's Olympic Qualifying games, Liga MX games, UEFA Champions League games and Europa League.
Sunday's Concacaf Men's Olympic Qualifying Championship group stage match between Costa Rica and Mexico was the most-watched game of the week. El Tri won the duel 3-0 boosting them to the No. 1 position in Group A above the USA as 447,000 people tuned in to watch the game. Additionally, FOX Sports 1's broadcast of the game attracted 125,000 viewers.
Two Liga MX Clausura games aired by TUDN made up the second and third most-watched soccer games on U.S. television last week. Club America's 1-0 away win over Mazatlan on Friday attracted 384,000 viewers to the broadcast, making it the second most-viewed game last week. Las Águilas were first in the league table for a day, until Cruz Azul defeated Atlas at home 3-2 on Saturday to retake the helm of the Liga MX. The game's broadcast was 2,000 viewers shy of breaking the 300,000 viewers mark but was the third most-watched game last week.
Tottenham Hotspur's 2-0 win over Aston Villa was the only Premier League game that was televised last week. The game received a 0.15 viewership rating after 253,000 people tuned in on NBC Sports Network.
FOX Sports 1 aired all-four Concacaf Men's Olympic Qualifying Championship Matchday 2 matches. The U-23 USMNT's 4-0 win against the Dominican Republic was the most-watched game out of the four, with 202,000 average viewers.
Barcelona's 6-1 away win against Real Sociedad was the most-watched La Liga Santander match on beIN Sport Español last week. A total of 159,000 people got to live the USA's Sergiño Dest score his first and second La Liga goals.
