Napoli beat Roma in their highly-anticipated showdown while AC Milan returned to winning ways in their dramatic 3-2 triumph over Fiorentina.

Another round of fixtures has gone by in the Serie A, with the weekend matches bringing great results for some clubs, and poor ones for others. Inter Milan were not in action, meaning AC Milan had the chance of moving three points closer to the league leaders, which they did by beating Fiorentina 3-2. Atalanta maintained their push to qualify for the UEFA Champions League, beating Hellas Verona 2-0 to keep ahold of the fourth spot. However, Napoli continue to keep up pace with Gian Piero Gasperini's men, overcoming Roma 2-0 to remain within two points of La Dea.

On the other hand, it was a terrible weekend for Roma and Juventus. The Giallorossi fell further behind in the race to qualify for the Champions League thanks to their defeat against Gattuso's men while Cristiano and Co. were humbled 1-0 at home by Benevento. Here are the top stats from the latest round in Serie A.

Cristiano Ronaldo, Romelu Lukaku, and Luis Muriel remain the top three scorers in Serie A but none of the aforementioned men found the back of the net over the weekend – it should be noted that Lukaku was not in action. Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who has fallen behind in the Golden Boot race due to an injury layoff, returned and scored his 15th of the Italian top-flight campaign.

  • Juventus presented Cristiano with a "GOAT 770" shirt prior to their clash with Benevento to celebrate the Portuguese icon overtaking Pele as football's all-time leading scorer. Unfortunately, the game did not end on a high note, with the Bianconeri losing 1-0 at home.

  • Zlatan Ibrahimovic returned to goalscoring form in Serie A after returning from his injury layoff. The Swedish icon scored the opening goal in the 3-2 win over Fiorentina, his 15th of the Italian top-flight season, becoming the oldest player in history to reach this feat in Serie A (39 years and 169 days).

  • Driest Mertens reached an excellent feat in Napoli's 2-0 win over Roma, scoring both goals in the crucial away victory. This took the Belgian's Italian top-flight record for Gli Azzurri to 100 goals, becoming only the third player in the club's history to reach the century mark after Marek Hamsik (100) and Antonio Vojak (102).
