The Rossoneri have struggled for positive results at the Stadio San Siro since the start of 2021.

Following their one-all stalemate at Old Trafford, thanks to a late, late goal from defender Simon Kjaer, one couldn't fault AC Milan supporters for feeling hopeful about their side's chances.

After all, an away goal has oftentimes proven to be the deciding factor in two-legged European ties, and with the second leg being played at the Stadio San Siro, Rossoneri fans felt that this just may be the season in which their team potentially ended their long wait for some kind of silverware.

Unfortunately, and ironically perhaps, it was a former Juventus player who shattered those dreams, as Paul Pogba's effort was enough to give Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men a 1-0 lead and subsequent passage to this season's quarter-finals.

The loss means that Milan have now lost a demoralizing five of their last eight home fixtures across all comps since 2021 started. During that period, this includes heavy defeats to cross-town rivals Inter in a match that could ultimately decide the Scudetto, and in fact, their sole wins have been against teams like Torino and Crotone. However, it's important to note that both the Granata and the Squali are in danger of relegation after having a very poor campaign.

Milan, who have slipped nine points behind Inter in the battle for the Scudetto, will look to get back on track following their disappointing European result this weekend when they travel to face Fiorentina.
