After going 18 years without knowing glory in the Copa America, Argentina’s Albicelestes have given themselves a task with two options. They must win or win.
The 2011 Copa America will be played in Argentina and there’s no way Batista’s men would want to see the cup leaving their country. “We did what we knew how to do and we’ve got to play this way against whichever team we play,” said an ambitious Lionel Messi following Argentina’s 4-0 demolishing of Albania a few days ago.

Most pundits and fans might think the time has come for the Albicelestes to at last clinch silverware. In fact, Sergio Batista could be considered a very lucky coach with the likes of star strikers such as Aguero, Tevez and two-time world best player Lionel Messi at his disposal. Above all, there have been no reports of major injury blows from the camp of the Argentines so far.

But despite having won their final warm-up match with such a wide margin, Carlos Tevez is not ready to get carried away. The 2011 FA Cup winner was quoted as saying by Terra US:

“We did well [against Albania] but it has to be made clear that it was just a preparatory match for what's about to come [in the Copa America]. And it will be much harder. We must win or win. We know it and we'll have to work for it.”

Echoing Tevez’s call for focus, Sergio Aguero also told Terra US:

“There is an obligation for us to be champions [of South America]. We have to start with a good beginning, keep it good and we’ll see after two or three matches where we are.”
