Dimitar Berbatov will be looking to end the season as Premier League top scorer but even he knows that Hernandez is likely to take his place in the Wembley showdown against Barca.
Dimitar Berbatov has had so many ups and downs in his Manchester United career so far but he will definitely remember this season for a very long time. Productivity has been Berba's contribution this season and his 20 goals in the Premier League speaks for himself.
However, the emergence of Javier Hernandez has seen the Bulgarian lose his place alongside Wayne Rooney upfront and worse still, the young Mexican seems set to be given the nod in their Champions League final clash against Barcelona. Anyhow, Sir Alex Ferguson stressed that Berbatov is completely okay with playing second fiddle to Hernandez.
“The emergence of Javier Hernandez has made it difficult for me to put Dimitar above him. His performance levels, goals, freshness and pace are fantastic.
"Dimitar understands that. He never complains. He will play on Sunday [against Blackpool] and hopefully he will be the top goalscorer.”
Berbatov has had a very strong season with the Devils so far but there has already been rumors on his exit this summer. With the likes of Bayern Munich and a few other clubs reportedly eyeing his signature, it remains to be seen whether United are tempted to let go of the languid Bulgarian.
