Swansea vs Man City – preview

High-flying Man City will be in action on Wednesday, gearing up for the midweek fifth round FA Cup action. The Premier League leaders will take to the field at 12:30 p.m ET, taking on Swansea live on ESPN+ with the sole aim of making the quarter-final stage of England's prestigious cup tournament.

The Citizens head into this clash on the back of stellar form, having won their last 14 games in a row across all competitions, equaling the record for most consecutive victories by an English top-flight club. Their most recent triumph came at Anfield, with Guardiola's men ending their 18-year wait for a win at Liverpool's infamous home ground.

Sterling and Co. visited the reigning Premier League champions over the weekend in what turned out to be a thrilling game, beating Klopp's men 4-1. Two howlers from Alisson eased the visitors' path to victory but City were dominant nonetheless, with Gundogan grabbing a brace and Phil Foden coming away with a Man of the Match performance, scoring one and assisting another.

That result saw the Manchester giants strengthen their grip on the Premier League title. They currently sit 10 points ahead of Liverpool and have moved five points clear of second-placed Man United while having a game in hand. Next up in their crosshair are Swansea, but with the Citizens set to face Tottenham, Everton, Arsenal, and Borussia M'gladbach in the span of 12 days starting from this weekend, Pep will likely rest several players in this game.

The Swans are also in good form and will thus fancy their odds of shocking the EPL giants should Guardiola rest his big guns. The Welsh outfit are unbeaten in their last eight games, winning six and drawing two. Can they pull off the impossible and beat the Premier League leaders? Tune in to find out.
