After two straight losses in the league and in the Coppa Italia, Stefano Pioli's men will be looking to get back to winning ways when they travel to face Bologna on Saturday, January 30th.

Preview: Bologna vs AC Milan

Following their loss in the Coppa Italia, Milan will now look to rebound when they travel to face struggling Bologna. The Rossoneri were eliminated in the quarter-finals during a heated encounter with cross-town opponents Inter that saw veteran striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic sent off in the secondhalf. That 2-1 loss comes on the heels of a shock 3-0 defeat to Atalanta. Although Stefano Pioli's men remain on top of the table, it's only by the skin of their teeth and with the Nerazzurri in hot pursuit, the Diavolo will need to get things back in order quickly.

The loss to Atalanta was even more shocking considering it happened at the Stadio San Siro and they managed to prevent Milan from scoring. Fortunately for them, they have a excellent track record against their upcoming opponents. Not only have Milan not lost in their last 14 meetings at the Stadio Dall'Ara, but they've only lost one of their last 22 clashes against the Emilia-Romagna based side, with wins in 16 of those ties. Furthermore, despite the dip in form, Pioli's side have done very well in their travels, with wins in all but one of their last 11 away Serie A matches.

The visitors will also still have Ibrahimovic, as his ban is only for next year's Coppa Italia, and that doesn't bode well for Bologna. Sinisa Mihajlovic's side have won just one of their last ten games, and also come into this tie having lost in the Coppa Italia recently. The Rossoblu may have a shorter injury list than Milan, with only Federico Santander still on the treatment table, and they may have been able to keep a clean sheet in their last home tie (against Verona), but they will likely find it difficult to keep a Milan side who have won ten of their last 11 away Serie A games, and more important, have scored in 19 consecutive away games.

Mihajlovic's team, despite their best efforts, were unable to get anything out of their last league fixture, which saw them lose 2-0 to reigning champs Juventus. Although it wasn't a humiliating loss, whether one loses 2-0 or 5-0, the result is still the same: zero points. At the moment, Bologna sit six points ahead of the drop zone, but any more negative results could see them pushed further down the table.

Team news: Bologna vs AC Milan

Bologna: Only Federico Santander remains out for the Rossoblu heading into this contest.

AC Milan: The visitors, by contrast, still have a long injury list. Ismael Bennacer, Simon Kjaer, and Matteo Gabbia are definite absentees, while Brahim Diaz, Sandro Tonali, and new signing Mario Mandzukic are not likely to feature.
