The English boss could be living his final hours at Stamford Bridge due to a lack of results in the past six games.

Chelsea's disappointing form recently could see coach Frank Lampard being given the boot in the next couple weeks, especially since the club has alreasy identified the man that could lead their project to new heights.

According to a report by The Athletic, the Blues are considering their options to replace Lampard if the former midfielder cannot turn things around. A loss against Morecambe in the FA Cup on January 10 could also set this plan in motion, with a German boss being named as the team's number one option to replace Lampard.

That man is none other than Thomas Tuchel, who was recently fired by PSG. The former Borussia Dortmund boss led Les Parisiens to their first-ever UEFA Champions League final, but they ended up losing the title against Bayern München last summer. Now, the Blues seem to trust Tuchel to lead a project that was fueled by a large investment which has failed to pay off on the pitch.

In fact, Tuchel's name has emerged as an alternative due to his knowledge of two German players: Timo Werner and Kai Havertz. Roman Abramovich and his advisors reportedly believe that Tuchel could become a key influence for both men in their English adventure, and his immediate availability and skills make him the top candidate to replace the Blues' under-fire boss.

With a thirteen-day gap between Chelsea's EPL games, next weekend's FA Cup clash could become crucial to decide Lampard's future. Only time will tell if the former Derby County boss can salvage his job and try to turn things around for his beloved Blues.
