The Citizens failed to take the maximum points in Tuesday's clash with the Baggies.

Manchester City hit another low in the Premier League following Tuesday night's draw with West Brom at the Etihad. The Citizens were forced to share spoils with the Baggies following the disappointing 1-1 draw, a result that has seen them attain their worst-ever point tally at this stage of the competition since 2008.

The night's outing against Slaven Bilic's struggling side sprang after Illkay Gundogan gave City the lead with an assist from Raheem Sterling inside the 30th minute. However, the lead of the hosts did not last with an own-goal by Ruben Dias restoring parity in the 43rd minute.

The second-half of the encounter proved to be more exhilirating than the first with a series of chances falling the way of Pep Guardiola's side. But the club's total haul of 26 shoots failed to yield any fruits. Right at the end of the clash, West Brom goalkeeper Sam Johnstone also ensured that his side left the Etihad with a point for the first time since 2012.

For Manchester City, the significance of the result cannot be understated as they have now recorded their worst-ever start after 12 games since 2008. The former Premier League holders currently sit in sixth place with 20 points from 12 outings, having scored 18 goals and conceded 12.
