Real Madrid have reasons to worry about their fate in the UEFA Champions League, especially if they have to rely on Raphael Varane to lead their defensive unit.
The French defender was once again involved in controversy due to a woeful performance, which included a massive mistake that led to Shakhtar's opening goal. The defender decided not to clear a ball Ferland Mendy was not able to control, and while doing it, he left the door open for Dentinho's opener.
The player's performances this year have been harshly criticized by fans and experts, but if their personal opinion was not enough, the stats that have emerged after the game surely give supporters reason to complain.

Other fans believe that the mistakes made by the player during the game against Manchester City earlier this year have not been left behind by the footballer, who is now doubting his skills when he faces top competition in Europe.
