The Red Devils and the Gunners are gearing up for a highly-anticipated Old Trafford showdown. Here’s our preview of this weekend’s standout fixture.

Man Utd vs Arsenal – Preview

Man United are preparing to host bitter rivals Arsenal in Sunday's stellar fixture. Once a clash between England top dogs, gone are the days when this fixture would decide the title race. Instead, this clash is seen as early test as to who will finish in the top four this season.

Both sides have endured an inconsistent start to the campaign. While the Red Devils have enjoyed two splendid victories in the UEFA Champions League, winning 2-1 at PSG before thrashing RB Leipzig 5-0 at home, Solskjaer's men boast only two wins from their opening five league fixtures and thus sit 15th in the standings.

The case for the Gunners isn't much different. Arteta's men kicked off the season with back-to-back wins over Fulham and West Ham, although the victory over the Hammers was unconvincing to say the least. However, the north London giants have lost all but one of their following four league games, falling 3-1 at Liverpool, 1-0 at Man City, and 1-0 at home to Leicester, beating only Sheffield 2-1 along the way.

The result in this game could set the tone for each club's season despite being early on in the campaign. Lose and disappointment awaits. Triumph and confidence will grow. Man United are yet to win at home this season but the Red Devils boast an excellent league record at Old Trafford against Arsenal.

Arteta is keen on ending this drought, stating ahead of the showdown: "I think it's been 14 years since Arsenal have won a Premier League game at United and, after the defeat like we had against Leicester last week, I think it's the perfect scenario to go there and try to do that."

Will Arsenal be able to pull off a win at Man United? Tune in to find out!
