Two teams who will be making a strong claim for a top-six finish will go head to head in Monday night's encounter.

Match preview

Leeds United will be out to extend their fine start to the season when they welcome Wolves to Elland Road on Monday. The Whites come into the clash on the back of a three-game unbeaten run and will be soaring high in confidence as a result.

Following their narrow defeat to Liverpool in their opening game, Marcelo Bielsa's men have gone on to secure successive wins over Fulham and Sheffield, sealing it off with an entertaining 1-1 draw against Manchester City prior to the international break. Their performance against Citizens and Liverpool have raised a lot of eyebrows and, as a result, it needs no telling as to how much of a threat they are expected to pose to Premier League clubs this season.

Relatively, Wolves are expected to uphold their label as giantslayers this term and, as such, will look to add Leeds to their prey list. Nuno Espirito Santos' men, although yet to hit the ground running, have performed moderately well in the four games played so far. Incidentally, they have won two games so far with the teams being Sheffield United and Fulham - just as the opponent they face.

The two remaining fixtures ended in defeat against West Ham and Manchester City. Needless to say, another positive result will not be out of norm and if any team can outwit the genius of Marcelo Bielsa, then Nuno Espirito can be named among the men with the expertise.

Team news

Leeds United are expected to enter the clash with Wolves without Diego Llorente and Liam Cooper after the pair picked up injuries during the international break. Adam Forshaw, Gaetano Berardi and Kiko Casilla are all unavailable due to lack of match fitness.

For Wolves, Jonny Castro is ruled out of contention for the visitors as he is yet to recover from a knee injury. Meanwhile, Fernando Marcal is expected to recover and make the squadlist after picking up a calf knock in the previous outing.
