The hosts will aim to add up to their impressive start to new season with a successive against the Red Devils.

Match preview

Brighton & Hove Albion will welcome Manchester United to the Amex Stadium in Matchday 3's early kick-off game on Saturday. The Seagulls have begun their season on a high note and will look to keep up the momentum to avoid the prospect of a relegation battle reminiscent of what climaxed last season. Graham Potter's men started the new campaign by playing host to Chelsea but ended the proceeding with a 3-1 loss despite showing much promise throughout.

An inspiring performance subsequently followed Brighton's first defeat when they hosted Portsmouth in the second round of the Carabao Cup. The Amex outfit ran away with a 4-0 victory before securing a 3-0 win over Newcastle in their second Premier League game of the season. Three days later, they followed up with a 2-0 away win over Preston North End in the third round of the Carabao Cup.

In the grand scheme of things, Brighton enters Saturday's game with a relatively average form. Across the Seagulls' last 10 games, they have registered four wins, four draws and two losses. The upcoming Premier League game is the first of two upcoming meetings with Manchester United with a fourth round clash in the Carabao Cup also in the pipeline. As to whether they can upset the odds against the Red Devils remains to be seen.

Solskjaer's men started their Premier League campaign on the wrong foot, suffering a 3-1 defeat in their Premier League opener against Crystal Palace. They, however, followed suit with a 3-0 victory over Luton Town in the third round of the Carabao Cup and are hoping to build on the win.

Pressure has started brewing around the Old Trafford outfit as they are yet to rival other title contenders in terms of recruitment in this summer's transfer window. The club has only managed the signing of former Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek who is swiftly becoming a fans' favorite after scoring on his debut against Palace. While new arrivals are being anticipated, not many are convinced about the direction the club is headed this season.

On the field of play, United were without a win in three successive games prior to Tuesday's win over Luton Town. In the last 10 matches across competitions, they have won just five, drawn one and lost four. Nevertheless, their impressive form against Brighton should be enough motivation going to Saturday's game. The 13-time Premier League winners have won 15 of 23 meetings with the Seagulls, losing five and drawing the remaining three.

Team news: Who is injured or suspended for Brighton vs Manchester United?

Jose Izquierdo, Florin Andone and Christian Walton will be unavailable for the upcoming game as a result of injury. After picking up a red card in the win over Newcastle, Yves Bissouma will not be included in the squad against Manchester United. Meanwhile, Connolly Tariq Lamptey are both minor doubts but are expected to be available for Saturday's game.

For United, Axel Tuanzebe and Phil Jones will not be available for selection as a result of injuries. Chris Smalling is linked with a move to AS Roma and, as a result, should be omitted from the matchday squad.
