Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling has not been spared after squandering a glorious opportunity to score in Saturday's UEFA Champions League clash with Olympique Lyon. The 25-year-old England international failed to tie the scores at 2-2-2, sending his attempt miles over the bar whiles facing an empty post.
It was one of the 'hands on head' moments in the night's encounter and a goal could have potentially spurred the Citizens on to achieve great things. Having conceded Moussa Dembele's goal moments earlier, no better opportunity could have arrived for the Premier League outfit to get back in the mix.
First, Gabriel Jesus's trickery came in handy on the right and the Brazilian, having made way past his challenger, picked out Sterling with a low cross. However, the former Liverpool attacker skied a shot over the bar while being just two yards out with an empty net in front of him. Watch:

Hey @sterling7 . Just wondering if you could talk us all through what happened here ? Would have brought the score to 2-2 and possibly gone onto extra time and penalties. Look forward to hearing from you #MCILYO pic.twitter.com/RqchSsglMe
