The Red Devils were punished twice after two goalkeeping errors by their No.1.

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea was heavily slammed on Sunday for the roles he played in Chelsea snatching a two-goal lead in their FA Cup semi-final tie. The Spanish shotstopper committed successive errors to gift the Blues two crucial goals inside Wembley.

The end of the first half saw Manchester United losing defender Eric Bailly to a head injury following a collision with Chelsea's Kurt Zouma. However, a defensive mistake in stoppage time of the period changed the half-time team talks for both clubs with Chelsea capitalising to get the opener.

It was Olivier Giroud who the first to react to a cross by Cesar Azpilicueta after ousting Victor Lindelof at the edge of the penalty area. A rather tame shot dispatched by the Frenchman then eluded David de Gea who was guarding the first post.

Thirty seconds after the resumption of the second half, another howler by the 29-year-old handed Chelsea their second of the night. This time it was Mason Mount who got in on the action with his shot from about 20 yards slipping past the United goalie.

An own-goal by Harry Maguire in the 74th-minute took Chelsea's lead to three and summed up his side's atypical performance since the resumption of the season. A consolation goal went the way of the Red Devils thanks to Bruno Fernandes' 85th-minute spot-kick.

Chelsea will now face Arsenal at Wembley in what is their 14th FA Cup final. Only the Gunners (21) and Manchester United (20) have reached more finals than the Blues.
