The 35-year-old forward finally converted a set-piece after numerous attempts.

Cristiano Ronaldo finally broke the curse of not scoring free-kicks for Juventus by grabbing his first after almost two seasons. The Bianconeri forward found the back of the net with his 43rd attempt in Saturday's 4-1 victory over Torino at the Allianz Stadium.

In the day's encounter which saw Gianluigi Buffon break the Serie A record for most appearances with his 648th outing, Paulo Dybala fired the Old Lady in front after being set up by Juan Cuadrado. The latter subsequently doubled the lead with an assist from Cristiano Ronaldo before Andre Belotti pulled one back on the verge of half-time via a spot-kick.

16 minutes after play resumed for the second half, Ronaldo stepped up to smash home his 46th free-kick goal at club level - 32 of which were scored for Real Madrid and 13 for Manchester United. An own-goal by Koffi Djidji consolidated Juventus' triumph.

In effect, Cristiano Ronaldo took his tally for ths 2019/2020 Serie A season to 25, making him the first Juventus player in 59 years to register that haul. Omar Sivori was the last to accrue that tally, ending the 1960-61 season with 28 goals.

With the same 25-goal tally, Cristiano Ronaldo became the first player in history to manage that amount of goals in the Premier League, La Liga and Serie A respectively.
