A lonely goal by Robert Lewandowski was enough to see Die Roten claim one more title in the German top-flight with two games left in the season.

Bayern's chances of winning the title increased massively with their win over Borussia Dortmund a couple of weeks ago and they were confirmed today when Die Roten defeated Werder Bremen with a narrow one-nil score.

Hansi Flick's men did not have an easy time winning this game, as they were down to ten men for the final ten minutes due to a red card against Alphonso Davies. On top of that, Manuel Neuer pulled off a massive save as time expired to give Die Roten the win and the necessary points to claim the title.

With today's win, Bayern improved their ongoing record of eight straight Bundesliga titles, while also extending the distance between them and Nürnberg, the team with the second most titles in the Bundesliga (9).

On top of that, Bayern became the third team from the top 5 European competitions to claim 30 or more titles in their domestic competitions along with Juventus and Real Madrid.

"Bayern München became Bundesliga champions for the eighth straight season, reaching 30 German top-flight titles. Only Juventus (35) and Real Madrid (33) have won more titles in their domestic competitions than Die Roten in the top 5 European leagues."
