The Argentine striker will extend his stay in France after the two clubs reached a consensus in negotiations.

Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan have finally agreed to terms for the permanent transfer of Mauro Icardi, a report from Sky Italia has revealed. The fee accepted by the Nerazzurri to fully sanction the departure of the 27-year-old Argentinian striker is in the region of 57 million euros ($63.3 million).

Last summer, Icardi secured a season-long loan move to Les Parisiens as he was not considered as part of the plans of new Inter manager Antonio Conte due to his controversial past. Since his arrival in France, the striker has been prolific for the reigning Ligue 1 champions, scoring 20 times in 31 appearances.

In the initial terms of the one-season loan deal, PSG had an option to buy the former Nerazzurri captain for €70 million ($77.7 million). Pleased with his input so far, the French outfit had been working on a permanent transfer for the attacker in recent months. However, the club proposed a less expensive deal coronavirus pandemic affecting their finances.

On Friday, Sky Italia's transfer gurus Gianluca Di Marzio and Fabrizio Romano reported that both PSG and Inter had finally agreed to terms. The arrangement will see the former pay €50 million plus €7 million bonuses ($63.3 million) for Icardi.

The deal is expected to be finalized on Saturday. Subsequently, Icardi should pen a four-year deal which will see him earn a reported €189,000  ($210,000) per-week salary.
