Fans from around the world have to thank Leganés' coach Javier Aguirre for letting it all out.

Football fans around the world have one more date to mark on their calendars, as La Liga officers have finally set a date for the Spanish top-flight to resume after the pause caused by the coronavirus pandemic and after the large toll it left in Spain.

Barcelona led the competition by only two points even after losing El Clásico against Real Madrid. The options to see the season ending without a winner has gone out of the window with this announcement.

The highly-anticipated date was revealed by Mexican coach Javier Aguirre in an interview with Marca Claro.

"I've got some breaking news for you. I just got word from La Liga that we will officially start playing again on June 20. The idea is to end the tournament by July 26. I'm really happy to know this because we can schedule our training sessions," Aguirre said.

Aguirre went on to reveal how La Liga will work things out to end the season in just 36 days.

"We will play on Saturdays and Sundays and the next matchday will take place on Wednesdays and Thursdays. We will start training tomorrow after everyone in the team has passed the (COVID-19)tests," Aguirre added.

These words by the Mexican coach hint that all the action will resume with games such as Real Madrid against Eibar and with Barcelona's visit to Mallorca. Either way, it will be a good thing to see one of the top leagues in the world back in action, and we at LiveSoccerTV.com will keep you updated on everything that happens in La Liga before June 20 and especially when all action resumes.
