The London club has made transfer inquiry for the attacker.

Arsenal has open talks with Valencia over a deal for Rodrigo Moreno, a report from Mirror has revealed. The Gunners are believed to be eyeing a move for the 29-year-old Spanish striker as part of their recruitment plans this summer.

Mikel Arteta's side faces the likelihood of losing star striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who enters the final year of his contract next summer. The former Borussia Dortmund ace is yet to commit his future to the club and has recently been linked with a move to Arsenal's Premier League rivals Manchester United.

Amid the uncertainty, Arteta has reportedly told the club's hierarchy to focus on securing the service of a new striker in the upcoming transfer window. English publication Mirror has revealed that the North London outfit has already turned its focus to acquiring the service of Valencia's Rodrigo Moreno. The report claims that they have initiated contact with Los Che, who are also willing to part ways with the striker.

Back in January, Rodrigo was heavily linked with a move to Barcelona who was in the market to find a replacement for the injured Luis Suarez. However, the Catalans and their league rivals failed to reach an agreement over the player's £50 million price-tag plus add-ons.

With Rodrigo's release clause set at £106 million, Arsenal will hope to negotiate for a transfer fee in the region of what Barca rejected. The Gunners' transfer target has scored registered five goals and 11 assists in 28 appearances this season.
