The nerazzurri side will not watch one of their best players leaving the club without getting something in exchange.

There have been rumors about Lautaro Martínez's potential move to Barcelona all season, but this time Inter execs have finally stepped up their efforts to keep the player around by trying to lure one of Los Blaugranas' footballers to Giuseppe Meazza Stadium.

According to a report by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter will not let Martínez leave the club as easy as initially thought, and the chance of including one of Barcelona's players in the negotiation has increased overnight. The player in question is none other than Antoine Griezmann, who would leave Camp Nou Stadium after just one season.

The main problem to see this swap deal happening would be Griezmann's wages, which are way higher than Lautaro Martínez's. The Argentine ace reportedly collects a bit over $1.5M a year, and Griezmann's wages at Camp Nou are much higher than that.

While all dealings are currently on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic, things could speed up once all activity resumes. Either way, it doesn't seem that Barcelona will be able to hire Lautaro Martínez as easily as once expected.
