Los Blancos and Los Culés are already making plans to boost their midfield for the 2020-21 season, even if they don't know when it will begin.

Once again, Barcelona and Real Madrid seem destined to fight for one more signing, but there is no clear indication on which one of these Spanish giants could win the bidding war.

Napoli has struggled all season long to go back to the top spots they fought for under Maurizio Sarri, but there are players at San Paolo Stadium that still represent a good option to boost teams from around the world. While most headlines are stolen by Dries Mertens or Lorenzo Insigne, the target of an alleged bidding war between the two La Liga giants is none other than Fabián Ruiz.

The former Real Betis midfielder has dazzled Serie A with his ball-handling skills, and he has often been named as a transfer target for Bayern München and Premier League teams. In fact, Real Madrid tried to sign the player during the past summer, but Napoli's president refused to seal the deal.

Now, player agent Angel Torres has openly admitted that his client could end up leaving this summer if any of the bidding clubs present a proper offer.

"A renewal? We have set aside negotiations for a while, until the end of the season. There are very important clubs that have asked for information, and we have already informed Napoli. These clubs believe that he is a midfielder who is going to be one of the players of the decade," Torres said.

Negotiations will not be easy for either Madrid or Barça, as they will have to negotiate directly with the club for the player's services.

"There is no release clause in his current contract. I really don't know what Ruiz's value is at present," Torres added.

The 23-year-old has been a key asset for Gennaro Gattuso's men this season, and he was one of the best footballers in their 1-1 draw against Barcelona a couple of weeks ago.
