The Brazilian player is out of a contract with the Blues this summer, but he'd be OK with the idea of not collecting a paycheck if required.

Willian was one of Chelsea's players who is set to run out of a contract with the Blues, but even if most would not commit to play with a club beyond the expiration of their deal, the Brazilian ace is willing to take one for the team in order to see the end of the season with the London-based side.

Speaking in an interview with Esporte Interativo, the playmaker revealed that he'd make that decision as a gratitude gesture towards the team.

"If the championship had to be played beyond that date, during those months, it would not be a problem for me. I'd show my loyalty to the team that way, just as they've been loyal to me, regardless of the signed document," Willian said.

The footballer revealed that all contract extension talks with Chelsea were brought to an abrupt end due to the coronavirus pandemic.

"There is nothing we can talk about right now. All negotiations ended because of the current situation," the player added.

Willian was one of the first members of Chelsea's squad to start his quarantine, following Callum Hudson-Odoi's positive diagnosis for coronavirus. That fact has forced Willian to stay home, not even being able to work out in his building's gym due to the restrictions imposed by the Blues on all the players.
