The Gunners ace is heading into the final 12 months of his contract, with Barcelona ready to reignite their interest in the striker.

After years and years of losing their best players to Europe’s elite, could Arsenal see another one of their talisman walk out of the club? According to SPORT, that is becoming likelier by the day.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is the man of interest, with Barcelona being heavily linked with the Gunners superstar. The Gabonese ace’s contract situation in north London means the club have little leverage and could be forced to sell this summer.

And according to the Catalan newspaper, the Gunners have already named their price for last year’s Golden Boot winner. SPORT claim that Arsenal will demand $59M for the 30-year-old striker as he is entering the final 12 months of his contract.

Attempts to tie Aubameyang down to a new contract but that has not been successful so far. Several sources claim that the Gabonese ace’s future at Arsenal hinges on them making the Champions League but the team are in ninth and are eight points off the top four.

Barcelona have reportedly already made contact with the Gunners ace, reaching out to his representatives after Suarez’s long-term injury. Since then, the player has pledged his loyalty but is yet to sign a new deal, leaving the door open for a Camp Nou switch.
