The former footballer and his brother/agent Roberto Assis were released after spending seven hours talking to inmigration officers.

Ronaldinho's problems with the law don't seem to end, and this time, he had to deal with Paraguayan justice because of a misunderstanding.

The former footballer made it to Paraguay after he and his brother were invited into the country by a friend from Brazil. His friend was set to open a casino, and he connected both siblings with another countrymen, who strangely got them two Paraguayan passports. Both Ronaldinho and his brother Roberto tried to use the passports to enter the country, but it turned out that both documents were fake.

The player and his brother were secluded in a hotel for hours, until local authorities asked them to share their version of this  problem. After seven hours defending their case, both Ronaldinho and his brother were released.

Their lawyer took the opportunity to speak on their behalf to avoid more confusion.

"Ronaldinho is still subject to this judicial process. He can leave the country because he is carrying his passport, but he has chosen not to do so. I have no idea what the authorities will decide on this matter,"attorney Adolfo Marín explained.

"We are still trying to figure out why he used this document. He did not ask or solicit this passport, both documents arrived into his home via mail. He didn't think anything of it, because he has his own documents,"Marín added.

This is not the first run-in Ronaldinho has had with immigration authorities. Last year, a Brazilian judge confiscated his passport for failing to pay an environmental fine caused by one of his properties. Since then, Dinho had not been allowed to leave the country, until today's incident took place.

The footballer and his brother will remain in Paraguay until this case is clarified, even if they don't need to stay in the country.
