The German shot-stopper has turned into one of the most reliable players at Camp Nou, but he is dubious about the length of his stay in Catalunya

Barcelona could be handed a major blow for the next season if Marc-André Ter Stegen's words to a journalist come true in the next few months.

A report by Catalunya Radio suggested that Ter Stegen has cast doubts over his future at Camp Nou following a request by a Catalan journalist.

The unnamed journo told sports writer Lluis Canut that he had approached Ter Stegen to write his biography and have it hit bookstores next summer, but Ter Stegen refused to do so because "he did not know if he was going to extend his stay with Barcelona beyong the summer," according to Canut's words in his show "El Club de la Mitjanit".

The German shot-stopper has been quite outspoken this season, and some of his comments have gotten him in trouble with some of his team-mates, including Lionel Messi. Some of those incidents include his words right after the game against Slavia Prague, where he dissed the team's performance and urged his team-mates to "discuss some issues between them" right after the game.

The other major problem for Ter Stegen came earlier this year, when he had a heated argument with Messi during a training session, where both of them reportedly slammed each other's contribution to the team's woes.

This report adds to the news linking Ivan Rakitic to a move away from Catalunya to join Atlético Madrid.

Be that as it may, Ter Stegen is still under contract at Camp Nou until 2022, and if any team wants to exercise his buyout clause, they will need to splash over $200M for his services.
