The Italian top-flight has seen some of its top games being suspended or played behind closed doors, and the government is ready to step in to avoid more problems.

Italy has been one of the countries that has faced more problems due to the coronavirus outbreak. Some of those problems have seen Serie A games being postponed or being played behind closed doors, but now, the Italian government may put an end to those counter measures for the greater good.

According to a report by La Gazzetta dello Sport, members of the Italian government will propose to close all stadiums in the country for at least one month, in order to see the current health crisis give in.

This measure might be adopted as the game between Inter and Juventus was suspended due to this crisis. Today, the Coppa Italia clash between Milan and Juventus was also suspended in order to prevent more problems linked to the disease.

Italian authorities seem to be taking the proper steps to prevent further cases of the disease, since over 2,000 people have been diagnosed with it since the first case emerged. Moreover, 79 people have died during the coronavirus outbreak in Italy, which may prompt even tighter health measures.

As of now, nine Serie A games have been postponed due to the outbreak, and while it is yet unclear when they will be played, the number will most likely increase every weekend until the outbreak is controlled.
