The game was initially set to be played behind closed door but has now been pushed back to a later date.

It is official: Juventus vs Inter Milan has been postponed. The clash between two of the favorites to win the Serie A this season, one of this weekend's most anticipated matches, has now been delayed due to coronavirus fears.

The game had initially been planned to take place behind closed doors after the novel virus broke out in certain regions in Italy. However, the league made the decision to call off this game on Saturday morning.

The clash between Cristiano and Co. and Antonio Conte's side has now been pushed back to a later date due to "urgent measures" being taken to contain the virus from spreading. Juventus-Inter isn't the only fixture called off as four other matches have also been postponed. They are AC Milan vs Genoa, Parma vs SPAL, Sassuolo vs Brescia, and Udinese vs Fiorentina.

All five of these games have been rescheduled for May 13, which is a Wednesday, as announced by the league. An announcement posted by Juventus on their official Twitter read:

"Juve-Inter has been postponed until Wednesday 13th May 2020, in compliance with the 'Urgent measures for the containment and management of the epidemiological emergency of COVID-19'".

All five of the aforementioned postponed matches were initially scheduled to go ahead in empty stadiums but that plan has now been scrapped. Juventus lead the Scudetto race by a single point while Inter Milan, who are third in the standings, are four points behind the Old Lady. This means Lazio, who will be in action today, can grab the top spot in the Italian top-flight should they beat Bologna.
