The current Premier League champions may be fighting to clear their name, but they have to be ready if they can't do so.

The first reactions by Manchester City after their Financial Fair Play ban have started to emerge, and a fresh report suggests that the club will need to offload some of their players to fulfill the demands of football's governing body in Europe on that matter.

The team is aware that they will have a tough time in balancing their financial books if the ban is upheld, and team owner Khaldoon Al-Mubarak will be ready to part ways with as many players as possible to make up for the $151M in cash prizes the team will not earn for their two-year absence in the UEFA Champions League.

The first name on Manchester City's transfer list is none other than Leroy Sané. The winger was linked to an exit last summer, but an untimely injury prevented him from signing with Bayern München. The German footballer is set to enter the final year of his contract with the Citizens, and Al-Mubarak is ready to accept a bid close to $86M for his services.

According to the Daily Star, Sané is desperate to show his skills on the pitch again following his long spell on the sidelines, mainly because he does not want to see his chances of playing in the 2020 UEFA Euro fade away. Furthermore, he is keen on showing that he can still be a valuable asset for Bayern München if they decide to push for a transfer.

The German footballer is expected to play his first game of the season this Sunday, when the Citizens face Leicester at King Power Stadium.
