Life at Arsenal under Unai Emery was not only miserable for the team's supporters, but also for some of the Spaniard's former players.
The team currently on a mini-break had some of its footballers in a round of interviews, and the words vented by Mesut Özil and Alexandre Lacazette leave no doubt about how things have changed for them under new management.
The first one to speak up was Özil, who had a widespread bad relationship with his former boss, up to the point where the German was close to leave the club while on his watch.
"As a team we are happier and everyone wants to give their all for this club. We are improving in the tactical aspect of the game and hopefully it will have an effect in our immediate future," Özil said.
Then, Alexandre Lacazette backed up Özil's claims by adding that there seems to be a better synergy between all players both on and off the pitch.
"We're working closer together. There has been a change between the way we thought before and how we are doing so both on the pitch and away from it. We have a better tactical approach now and I'm sure you guys will be able to see that in the next few weeks," Lacazette added.
Both footballers had public rifts with former boss Unai Emery, which may be the reason why they decided to aim a dig at him. Nevertheless, Arsenal's recent results under Arteta (four draws in the last five games) need improvement if they want to end the season on the top half of the competition.
