The Portuguese playmaker spoke of the influence his teammate in A Selecao had in his signing with the Red Devils.

Bruno Fernandes gave his first interview as a Manchester United player, and he was not shy about how Cristiano Ronaldo played a key role in his signing with the English club.

According to the former Sporting Lisbon player, it was not only a matter of looking up to the 35-year-old footballer, but also that CR7 spoke to him and his coach about what he could do for the team and vice versa.

"Yes, I talked about Manchester United with Cristiano. He just said good things about United. He said he started living his dream here and he started being a really good player here. I think he is happy with my transfer," Fernandes told Manchester United's website.

Then, the playmaker went on to reveal how Ole Gunnar Solskjaer also had a chat with CR7 before Manchester United splashed the cash to sign the highly-talented Portuguese.

"I also talked with Ole and he said he asked Cristiano about me. Ole told me he said good things about me, which is good," Fernandes added.

The Red Devils' new No. 18 thanked and praised Cristiano for having a hand in his transfer.

"Cristiano plays with me in the national team and he knows me, and for me he's a good person. I want to follow his steps," the player concluded.
