The Danish midfielder sealed a deal to join Inter this winter, but it was no easy task.

Christian Eriksen gave a revealing interview to the BBC, where he discussed in detail his last months at Tottenham and how Daniel Levy became one of the main reasons why he chose to leave the English side.

According to the Danish playmaker, his refusal to sign a contract extension came with a lot of problems, which even caused fans to bid farewell to him when they ran into him on the street.

"When you're on a short-term deal, it's like you are about to leave. I was not a different player in that sense, but I was in and out of the team at the same time. If your deal is about to end, you're a 'black sheep', an outcast. I was honest because I thought it would be good, and I didn't want to hide the truth, like other players do. I even read that some called be a bad person. Since I came out to say I wanted to leave, I was not good enough anymore," Eriksen said.

Then, Eriksen referred to his deteriorated relationship with Daniel Levy.

"In the end, it came to what Tottenham wanted and how much Inter could pay. I was in Tottenham's hands, Daniel Levy's hands. He says 'yes' or 'no', and you try to be as professional as you can and try not to force your way out," the player added.

But it was not all that bad for Eriksen. The Danish playmaker praised Jose Mourinho's attitude towards him, revealing a conversation between the two that clarified things for him and made him appreciate the Portuguese boss.

"He did a great job. He could've said:'he wants to leave, so he won't be playing anymore', but he didn't. We had a talk, where I explained to him what I wanted and how I felt. He told me I should do whatever I needed to be happy, and if it was necessary, he'd use me," Eriksen concluded.

The Danish footballer has played two games for Inter since he completed his transfer to the Serie A side.
