The Citizens fell 22 points behind Liverpool in the title race, and there could be consequences to some of the Spaniard's actions after Sunday's clash.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has not been enjoying life at the Etihad recently, especially after being handed a sixth loss this season by Tottenham on Sunday.

It's perhaps this situation which may have caused what is expected to become a fresh controversy between the Premier League and Manchester City, as the former Bayern boss was almost one hour late to talk to the press after the 2-0 defeat against Mourinho's Tottenham.

Premier League rules are quite simple when it comes to post-match press conferences, and Guardiola's decision to delay his presser may very well see him being handed a fine.

When asked about his delay, Guardiola tried to dismiss the idea of a discussion between himself and his players.

"I was talking to my staff and my wife. After this performance it would be an incredible mistake to say how bad they are. We created chances and conceded few. We lost the game so we talked about how to move forward and keep going," Guardiola said.
