Watch: Haaland makes history with brace vs Koln

Watch: Erling Haaland scores twice off the bench vs Koln, makes Bundesliga history

January 24, 2020 By Emmanuel K. Budu-Annor
The teenage sensation entered the German top-flight league's record book with yet another stellar display.

Another matchday, another Erling Haaland record. The Borussia Dortmund sensation was off the mark once again as he came off the bench to score twice in Friday's Bundesliga encounter with Koln.

The 19-year-old striker who announced his arrival in the German league last week with a historic hat-trick as a substitute against Augsburg, came close to replicating the feat in his home debut. Having sat out the first half of the Matchday 19 clash, the former RB Salzburg starlet was introduced into the fray for Thorgan Hazard in the 65th minute.

Six minutes later, the Norwegian grabbed his first goal of the night with his first shot to extend Dortmund's lead to 4-1 before sealing the win with a curler after racing through on goal and rounding the Koln goalkeeper. Watch both goals below:

The significance of Haaland's brace is that he became the first player in the history of the Bundesliga to score five goals in his first two matches. He also did so with his first five shots on target.

As things stand, he has had a hand in 40 goals across all competitions this season, scoring 33 goals and registered seven assists.
