The Red Devils have been dealt a major injury blow ahead of the crucial test at Anfield.

An early team news has revealed that Manchester United could potentially face Liverpool without Marcus Rashford leading its attack. The 22-year-old striker faces a late fitness test ahead of Sunday's clash but was not spotted among the traveling matchday squad on Saturday.

Having picked up a knock in the 4-0 demolishing of Norwich at Old Trafford, Rashford was risked in the mid-week's EFL Cup encounter with Wolves but ended up picking another injury barely 15 minutes after being substituted into the game. A later reports suggested that the forward had injured his back and as a result remained a doubt for the trip to Anfield.

Saturday's development hints at United being hit with a huge blow as this season's top-scorer was not pictured among the squad which arrived at the Lowry Hotel in Manchester ahead of the trip to Liverpool. Among the players that were in attendance as per MEN included Anthony Martial, Fred, Luke Shaw, Mason Greenwood, Jesse Lingard, and injury returnee Eric Bailly among others.

Meanwhile, Liverpool has been handed a massive injury boost with both Fabinho and Joel Matip recovering in time for Sunday's clash. However, the Reds will be missing Dejan Lovren, James Milner and Naby Keita.
